In about 11 days I leave for home. That searing hot place called home is where I know I will be happy. That place which has powercuts of up to 6 hours a day is where I want to be. That place… that place… the list goes on and on…
Honestly, I now know the importance of my country. Just earlier today a friend of mine left for Bangalore. Another will be leaving for Delhi before the coming weekend. I am myself preparing to leave in 11 days. Few others too are going to leave for home soon. But these Europeans are just damn lucky. They have those low-cost, no-frills airlines that take them home at the drop of a hat. I was once talking to this Italian girl who was bragging that she got an air ticket for just GBP 25. God! She had no idea how jealous I felt when I heard that. If I could get an air ticket to India for that price I’d make a return trip home literally every month!
But these last 11 days are hard to pass by. Even though I have 2 exams remaining, my thoughts are more into my trip back home. Even though I will be home for just 2 weeks, I am looking forward to it. So many things are going on in my mind, I have no idea how I will manage to do it all. I want to meet my grandmother (this will be the first thing I will do, I know that), then I have to meet my friends. I’ll ask some of my relatives to come and visit me at home. Then there is a good amount of shopping to do and most importantly, sort out the bank related issues. How much time will I have for my mom and dad? God! I have no idea.
It will be a whirlwind trip at the end of which I know I will not have the heart to return to this horrific country called UK. Seriously speaking, I have started disliking UK now, perhaps this is not the right place for me to live and work. But thats a different issue, I’ll talk about it later, probably in another post.
Home! India… I just can’t think of anything else right now. Raploch project is what I was studying half hour ago but I have no strength left to do it any more. I’ll just quickly revise my entire course tomorrow morning and then will go to write the exam on Thursday. I just hope I pass in it with decent enough grades.
11 days! Could they be the longest 11 days of the year? It is quite possible!
